Many modern Bosch dishwashers are equipped with a running water heater. The washer gains cold water and then runs it through a small circle through the heater until it heats up to the required temperature. But now the next question arises: how does the electronic brain of the appliance determine the right amount of water?
Bosch dishwasher has a water flow sensor, and if it breaks, the self-diagnosis system displays the E14 error.
Causes of malfunction
Bosch dishwashers are equipped with a self-diagnostic system, which makes it easier for the user to find the place of breakdown. When the machine informs the E14 error, the interpretation of the code is simple: the flow sensor has failed. The device is responsible for the amount of water collected in the tank and is installed in place of the pressure switch in a technique with a flow-through heating element.
The reason may be not only in the sensor but also in its wiring. In case of connection failure, the element does not receive signals from the control module.
The E14 error code can be shown on the display in the next cases:
- There is no pressure in the system (or, on the contrary, it is too excessive).
- The intake valve is out of order.
- The electronic board is burnt.
How to solve the problem? Let’s take a step-by-step instruction described below.
How to eliminate the breakage
To get rid of pressure problems, tilt the appliance on 15-20 degrees to the left for a few minutes. If this method does not help, exclude a variant of a crash in the system, and try to reset the icons on the screen:
- disconnect the washer from the electricity for 10-15 minutes;
- connect it again after a while.
Is the error still on the display? Then it’s time to check the flow sensor. In case of malfunction, it cannot be repaired, only a complete replacement will solve the problem.
In addition, check the intake hose and its filter:
- Disconnect the hose from the case;
- Rinse it and the filter mesh under the running water.
To diagnose the fill valve, you have to understand its location. In Bosch dishwashers the detail is usually installed in the bottom part, but it also can be on top or side. To determine the location, look at the diagram of your washer.
Replacing the valve is easy:
- disconnect the wiring from the detail;
- remove the fixing screw.
- replace the detail with the new valve.
Do not forget to turn off the appliance before starting work.
Diagnosis of the control module, and especially its repair, is better to entrust the specialist. You can only visually inspect the item and find the burnt parts.
Acting sequentially you will be able to find the breakdown and eliminate it by yourself.
